radar, the radio, the telephone and the telegraph also have the functions of
the penetrations of the heavenly eye and the heavenly ear, but those are manmade
spiritual penetrations, not natural ones.
The spiritual penetrations gained
through Chan meditation are effortless and carefree in their functioning.
All you have to do is want to and you
can obtain such states through cultivation.”
